Graduate Fashion Week 2011

Sometimes you see a collection and you just know… I knew… Rory Longdon’s collection reminded me of a crossover between The Matrix and what people from 1980′s thought people in 1995 would wear. It was simple, a little on a dark side, very wearable, yet had a touch of “unusual”, so it’s no surprise Rory took the prestigious George Gold Award at GFW 2011.

Brick Lane Sundae

Sunday the 23rd of January ICKYPEN’s Alyx and Sacha stopped by Brick Lane in East London to see who runs styles. Actually we came to check out the recently disembarked Bape Pirate Store, but after a quick look, we decided that it looks more like a TK Maxx on a good day and set off to scout for fashionistas.
It was cold, but the vibe of Brick Lane, with all its’ funky shops and food stalls seemed to attract an immense amount of styles…

Ghostpoet at YOYO

Ghostpoet‘s last performance prior to release of his single “Cash and Carry Me Home” was at the Notting Hill Arts Club (YOYO) last Thursday (20th Jan). Alyx and Sacha came to watch the performance and have to say were just simply impressed. His works, classified under “Pop” in iTunes are a fresh breath in the sea of the vast, monotonous, commercial music.

You can pre-order his album Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam coming out 7th February on iTunes now.

G-Star RAW Campaign Launch

G-Star are rolling out their new 2011 Spring/Summer campaign and Gemma Arterton, a 25 year old British actress was introduced as the new face for the campaign.
“I’ve always loved the G-Star campaigns and am really, really thrilled to work with the brand,” the actress told US Weekly.
“The brand is ultra-modern, cool and quite unusual. It’s very different to any jean brand. It’s very edgy, raw and fresh.”

ICKYPEN’s Merjy and Alyxthought it would be a good idea to pop in an take a sneak peak at what’s going on…
